Today’s global logistics field requires a workforce capable to adapt with rapid change, new demands, and unforeseen challenges. Innovation is key to succeeding in this type of environment. Providing WIL members with ways to connect, collaborate, learn from, along with sharing with other colleagues, are key factors to our renovated Mentor Program.
Along with the traditional terms of mentor, mentee or protégé to identify the participants, WIL’s program includes advisor, and learner. Adding these terms will allow all participants a broader more open program where knowledge, insight, and connections are shared along with including people from various geographies and generations as it helps spread best practices and critical knowledge.
Career development is not easily defined as it was twenty, ten, or even five years ago. Nowadays, people are following their interests, passions, and abilities to help shape their futures which in effect evolve into a career plan. People want access to the needed skills and knowledge now to maintain and understand the current fast-paced environment. WIL’s Mentor program has a variety of both traditional and modern mentoring available to its members. If interested, kindly reach out to the email address provided and share with us what you’re seeking. Someone from WIL’s Mentor Steering Committee will respond to your inquiry shortly.
